Javier Mascherano is convinced that Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi still has much more to offer in his career.
The Argentine saw his countryman equal Raul’s record Champions League goals haul of 71 during the 2-0 defeat of Ajax in Amsterdam and says there is still more to come from ‘La Pulga’.
“It’s impressive that Messi has equalled Raul, who is one of football’s legends. Nonetheless, Leo is still young and he has a lot more to offer.
“He still has a great future ahead of him and that is very important,” he told Barcelona’s official website.
Furthermore, Mascherano was also very happy with the win over the Dutch giants, which ensured Barca’s passage into the next round of the Champions League.
“I’m very happy with the win because we know we are a team that is capable of playing well.
“We must remain wary, however, of any potential failures, but I think we are on the right road,” he concluded.
