Gomes happy with Valencia takeover

Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes says he is happy with Peter Lim’s takeover of the club.

The Singapore businessman has recently reached agreement to take ownership of Los Che and Gomes believes it is something that was required at Mestalla.

The Portuguese, whose economic rights are owned by Lim, is on loan to Los Che from Benfica along with striker Rodrigo and feels that Valencia will eventually benefit from the arrangement.

“We are all happy because it was something that this club needed,” he told SuperDeporte.

“I think Peter was delighted with the reception he received on the day of the Elche match, because he loves the club very much.”

Gomes reflected on the momentum that has taken Nuno Espirito Santo’s team into second place, just one point behind leaders Real Madrid, and stressed the importance of winning the next game against Athletic Bilbao.

“It’s going to be very difficult but we have to get the three points because that will be the best way to round things off before the international break,” he commented, before remarking on how much the fans have had a part to play this season.

“Every day there are people waiting to congratulate us and we feel the love and affection of the fans, not only during the game but all the time,” he asserted.
