Isco: Ronaldo favourite for Ballon d’Or

Isco believes Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo will win the Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year.

Ronaldo has earned the award, Isco added, for his performances for Los Blancos, and also reflected on his place within the Madrid squad.

“Personally, I think Cristiano is favourite for all that he’s shown,” he said, AS reports.

“The goals he’s scored, the trophies he’s won…

“My career has only just started and I’ve got a lot of goals yet. I think the best place to keep winning trophies is Real Madrid.

“I’m very positive. I’m in the best team in the world, we are winning trophies, we won La Decima and hopefully we can keep it up.”

Isco added that he hopes to help Madrid maintain their 11-game unbeaten run when Liverpool visit Santiago Bernabeu for a Champions League game on Tuesday.

“Liverpool are a very good team, historically speaking,” he continued.

“We won’t sit back at any time because they can counter-attack in any play and hurt us.

“Our new signings have adapted and the team is more committed and united in every game. Hopefully our winning streak can lost longer yet.

“Everyone one of our new signings have something amazing. Toni Kroos has stunning ball control and James Rodriguez has very great quality.

“Chicharito has an eye for goal that is very useful in tough games and Keylor Navas is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

“At the Bernabeu we’ll have more options than Liverpool to win but we know that any team can surprise us.

“We have to take the field with the same attitude and the same determination that we have had this season.”
