Alves: Defeats like this happen

Dani Alves doesn’t want to overstate the meaning of Barcelona’s defeat to Celta Vigo while admitting his performance wasn’t up to scratch.

Barca dominated, hitting the woodwork four times, but lost to a Joaquin Larrivey goal, a week after they were overturned by Real Madrid in the Clasico.

Alves said after the defeat to Celta that the performance was much better than against Madrid in general, although he was disappointed with his contribution.

“It was a crazy game and we had many chances to score,” the right-back said, Sport reports.

“Now we have to look forward. We know we’ll get criticism, that’s how it works. I know my game wasn’t good.

“We were disastrous against Madrid and better here. Now we try to correct our defects as a team.

“I’m not worried. These things happen in competition. We have to be prepared for times like this.”
