‘Villarreal motivated against Valencia’

Villarreal Coach Marcelino doesn’t believe motivation will be a problem for his team against high-flying Valencia.

The Valencian-Community-based Yellow Submarine host fourth-place Los Che and Marcelino told a pre-match Press conference that his players are eager to test themselves against Nuno Santo’s squad.

“It’s easy to motivate the players for this game, as it is different for the fans and playing against a top team, we are always more eager to beat them,” he said, AS reports.

“Everybody wants to play and be at the highest level.

“Valencia are a good team that has made a huge investment and it’s had an effect, but we have the idea of winning to give joy to our supporters.

“I expect intensity, rhythm, twists and turns to the game, lots of attacking and pressure, and a game in which whoever has the most accuracy can win.

“We will have to defend well and attack a lot. If we keep up a high tempo we are a hard team to beat and then it all depends on success in front of goal.”
