Atletico Madrid are understood to be keen to take Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu to the Vicente Calderon.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Sevilla this term, where he has helped steer the Andalusians to second place in the table, but according to AS the Spanish champions are keeping a close eye on his situation.

Deulofeu was on a season-long loan with Everton last year, where he made 25 appearances and scored three times, and boss Roberto Martinez wanted him to return to Goodison Park again this season.

However, he eventually headed to Sevilla after declaring himself “surprised” that Barcelona boss Luis Enrique had allowed him to join Los Rojiblancos.

It is believed that Atleti have made Barca aware of their interest and asked about a possible loan deal, although there already appears to be a stumbling block to any arrangement.

The Catalans are reluctant to let a player go to one of their direct rivals for the La Liga title, particularly on loan, and the Madrid club may well have to come up with a cash offer if they are to land him on a permanent basis.
