Napoli Coach Rafael Benitez believes Jose Callejon is ready for a place in the Spain squad after his good form in Serie A.
Callejon scored in Napoli’s 6-2 win over Verona this weekend and Benitez claimed that the former Real Madrid forward is in exalted company.
“Callejon is the best Spanish player to come to Italy since Luis Suarez,” he said, AS reports.
“Now there’s talk about Spain and I think the national team are following him. I think his time will come soon for La Roja and I would be very happy, although some time training with us would be lost.”
