Torres ‘won’t waste time on Leon’

Getafe President Angel Torres isn’t spending any time thinking about the situation of Pedro Leon, he has told reporters.

Leon hasn’t been able to play for El Geta this season after the club chose not to register the winger for the 2014-15 season.

Getafe would have breached the League-imposed salary cap if Leon had been included in the squad but Leon took his case to appeal after a stand-off between the LFP and the RFEF.

Leon’s argument to be allowed to play will be heard by the sporting court early next month and Torres says he’s not bothered by the potential outcome.

“We’re not asking anything from anyone. We’re aware of the situation,” he said, AS reports.

“It’s hard to explain it in two minutes. He might get a licence to play. Someday we’ll explain but it’s a long story.

“I’m indifferent. We didn’t count on him for this season and he knows that. He says he had offers to leave and we say he didn’t, or we didn’t receive any.

“If he’s licensed, I’ll be happy as he’s one more player. If not then I won’t waste a second on that topic.”
