Djukic: La Real can do better

Miroslav Djukic isn’t concerned about the problems dogging Real Sociedad as he prepares to lead Cordoba for the first time.

Djukic this week replaced Albert Ferrer at newly-promoted Cordoba and faces struggling La Real in his first fixture in charge.

Cordoba are struggling too, however, and have not yet won a game, but Djukic’s opposite number Jagoba Arrasate is said to be one defeat away from the sack.

Press reports on Friday suggested that Pepe Mel and Juande Ramos have already been contacted with a view to taking over should the Basques slip up again.

“La Real aren’t in the situation they planned but with the quality they have, they can be at any time,” Djukic told a Press conference, AS reports.

“We face a big team but we have to worry about ourselves.

“They are very direct, with good counter-attacks, and that’s what we have planned against.

“With their speed and size you have to take care of the second ball.

“It’s important we’re strong at home. We need to win and gain three points to validate all our work.

“We need to worry about doing the right things, not winning matches, because wins come as a consequence of doing the right things.”
