Berizzo wary of Levante changes

Eduardo Berizzo believes Levante’s style of play could change after Lucas Alcaraz replaced Jose Luis Mendilibar.

Alcaraz was appointed to replace Mendilibar earlier in the week and his first game comes tonight at Balaidos.

“I don’t know if they’ll be very, very defensive,” Marca reports Berizzo saying at his pre-match Press conference.

“Obviously a coaching change radically changes the previous approach but I imagine Levante will close the space, protect their goal and wait for their opportunity to counter-attack.

“We have to have patience with the ball and play with intensity and security. We need to avoid mistakes.

“Levante can modify their tactics and we have to prepare for different alternatives.”

Berizzo added that despite Celta Vigo’s decent start, they can’t consider themselves out of the relegation fight and Levante are a direct rival.

“There’s always a need to win. It comes in every game as you need points to climb the table,” he said.

“We got a valuable point against Athletic and beyond the number of points, we’re feeling good.”
