Claudio Bravo motivated for El Clasico

Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo says that rather than fearing his Clasico debut on Saturday he has never been more motivated.

The Chilean, signed from Real Sociedad this summer and yet to concede a La Liga goal in 720 minutes of football, revealed he is looking forward to coming up against Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Co.

“Stage fright? I don’t think so. Rather than the Santiago Bernabeu being imposing I’m more motivated than ever to be playing at such a place,” declared Bravo in an interview with Gol T.

“Playing against Ronaldo and the like is something that also motivates me and brings out my ambition and hunger.

“It’s something that keeps me focused on the day of the game and helps me maintain the level I’ve been playing at.”

Despite his brilliant start to the season, Bravo still does not feel as though he has nailed down the No 1 jersey at Camp Nou.

“No way do I believe I’m first choice here. I don’t consider myself No 1 for my country, nor did I think it when I was with Real Sociedad, or even before landing in Europe.

“I always try to earn the right to play because the day I feel I’m first choice will be the day when it might make me more complacent,” he justified.

Bravo intimated that the way things have gone so far is testament to how quickly he has adapted to the club and life in Barcelona.

“My adaptation has been positive in every aspect and coming here has filled me with enormous joy.

“I’ve also come to a city that is tailored to meet all your family’s needs, so you appreciate that and it makes your life so much easier.”
