Zurich boss Urs Meier considers Villarreal to be favourites ahead of the Europa League clash at El Madrigal on Thursday.
However, the 53-year-old, former boss of the Liechtenstein national team, believes it is something that could work to the Swiss side’s advantage.
“Villarreal are a great team that has started well in their own League and have some great players, which allows them to make changes,” he told a Press conference.
“But the expectation will be on them and being favourites will not mean anything. We are going to try and play a great game and if we have to defend then we will.
“A positive result here would be a great achievement for our players because we will be up against a great team in a great stadium,” said Meier, who acknowledged it was going to be difficult to stop a side that has only lost to Real Madrid and Barcelona so far this season.
