Tax Office to probe Filipe Luis deal

Hacienda, the Spanish Tax Office is looking into the deal that took Filipe Luis from Deportivo la Coruna to Atletico Madrid in July 2010.

A report in Marca claims an inspection has already begun regarding the VAT included in the transfer, and Depor have incorporated a point into the agenda for their

Annual General Meeting (AGM) with shareholders to be held in November.

The sale of the Brazilian full-back, currently with Chelsea, was understood to have closed at €12m, a fee that was due to be paid from the time of the transfer until 2013.

This included a percentage of any future transactions involving the player, something that came into operation last summer when he moved to Stamford Bridge.

The tax office is particularly interested in the VAT declared by Depor between June 1, 2010 and December 31, 2011, when Augusto Cesar Lendoiro was President of the Galicians.

Present incumbent, Tino Fernandez, has invited the media to Riazor on Thursday to explain the situation and the rest of the agenda for the AGM.
