Line-ups: Liverpool-Madrid

Real Madrid line up as expected for the Champions League game against Liverpool with Isco replacing the injured Gareth Bale.

Bale was ruled out of both this match and likely Saturday’s Clasico with a buttock injury and it was speculated Isco would come in.

Isco does indeed replace Bale in what is thought to be a 4-4-2 formation, with Cristiano Ronaldo partnering Karim Benzema.

James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Luca Modric make up the rest of Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield.

Former Liverpool defender Alvaro Arbeloa is at right-back with Raphael Varane continuing to deputise for Sergio Ramos and Marcelo on the left of the back four. Iker Casillas captains the side from in goal.

The Reds go with Simon Mignolet in goal and a back four of Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and former Sevilla defender Alberto Moreno.

Captain Steven Gerrard is joined in midfield by Joe Allen and Jordan Henderson and Philippe Coutinho, Raheem Sterling and Mario Balotelli are Brendan Rodgers’ front three.
