Jordi Cases withdraws Barca lawsuit

Barcelona member Jordi Cases has withdrawn his lawsuit against the club over the price of Neymar’s transfer, reports Marca.

Cases had requested the ongoing investigation of the case against Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu and Vice-President Javier Faus to be broadened, after both were charged with improper management and tax fraud.

However, in a letter to Bartomeu [pictured], member No 57,819 says he has not observed any “criminal behaviour in corporate or accounting terms, the misappropriation of funds, nor do I question the agency contracts and the endorsed services”.

For their part, Barca have promised no legal action will be taken against Cases, although this condition was understood to have been met reluctantly.

In the meantime, Bartomeu has shown his satisfaction at the decision.

“I can’t do anything but celebrate the evidence that the club has not engaged in any criminal activity,” he stated.
