Luis Suarez turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain in order to fulfil his dream of playing for Barcelona.
Respected magazine France Football claims the Ligue 1 outfit were even willing to offer striker Edinson Cavani as part of the deal to secure the Liverpool hitman’s signature, but his desire to join Barca was so strong that he instantly rebuffed any overtures.
As a result, PSG join a list of teams who have tried to sign the Uruguayan international, including Real Madrid, who also received a negative reply from the 27-year-old following reports they were set to bid up to €110m.
Suarez could make his Barcelona debut in this weekend’s El Clasico against Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, when his four-month ban for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in the World Cup expires.
