Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa is looking forward to returning to Anfield after spending two-and-a-half years at Liverpool.
Arbeloa quit Merseyside for Madrid but ahead of the Champions League meeting between his former side and his current employers, has spoken of his excitement at the prospect of the fixture.
“Going back to Liverpool after five years will be very special,” he said, AS reports.
“I played at Anfield so that will be very nice. I have told my teammates to enjoy playing at Anfield as much as possible.
“Champions League nights and big events like this are very special at Anfield.
“We will face a team that will fight to the death and give their all, because they need to win as well.
“I spent two wonderful years there and grew as a player and a person. I got used to a new culture.”
