Neymar feeling better at Barca

Neymar believes he is doing better this year at Barcelona than last, but can’t put his finger on why that may be.

The Brazil captain appeared at a pre-Ajax Press conference and as well as discussing the Champions League game against the Dutch, touched on his own form.

“I don’t know if this is a better version of myself but I do feel more at home, happier, and that’s showing on the pitch,” he said, AS reports.

“Everything is helping me reach a better level. The Coach, the players, and all that, when combined, the good comes out.

“I don’t know what has changed, perhaps my understanding of the team. I’m really enjoying it.”

Neymar could soon be joined on the pitch by Luis Suarez, whose suspension for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup will be over by the Clasico, on Saturday.

“Suarez, Lionel Messi and I can do many things,” Neymar predicted.

“Leo is the best in the world and if Suarez is added we can do great things for the club. He’s very strong and what happened with Chiellini is over.”

Not wanting to look too far ahead, Neymar insisted that beating Ajax is at the forefront of his mind, particularly after Barca lost their last Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.

“We’re not thinking about the Clasico. First we focus on the Champions League and then Madrid. It should be a great game in the Netherlands,” he added.

“It will be very difficult but we always play to win. We have to do well to get three points against a team that does everything very well.”

Neymar was involved in a minor controversy when he was substituted against Eibar for Munir El Haddadi, despite Luis Enrique wanting to take off Messi instead.

Messi ignored the instruction but Neymar said he doesn’t have a problem with Messi staying on the pitch.

“It didn’t bother me at all. I understand that Leo is making history,” he said.

“That’s part of football. You can’t always be on the pitch.”
