Report: Bale to miss Liverpool & Barca

Real Madrid will be without Gareth Bale for the Champions League game against Liverpool and the Clasico with Barcelona, reports claim.

It was said earlier on Monday that the Wales international was a doubt for Wednesday’s Anfield trip, having missed the win over Levante due to a buttock injury.

He was named as a Madrid substitute against Levante but didn’t get on the pitch.

AS has now reported that Bale will miss both the game against Liverpool and the game against Barcelona.

Bale played twice for Wales over the international break but isn’t expected to be fit for his club in the coming week.

AS speculate that Bale’s absence will see Carlo Ancelotti change from a 4-3-3 formation to a 4-4-2, with Isco and James Rodriguez forming a midfield unit with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema would then play together in attack.
