Ancelotti: PL return? Maybe…

Carlo Ancelotti has said that when he leaves Real Madrid, he’ll either return to the Premier League or retire from football altogether.

Ancelotti has been interviewed in the British Press ahead of Los Blancos’ trip to Liverpool in the Champions League, the sides meeting at Anfield on Wednesday.

Having spoken of the chance of Cristiano Ronaldo returning to Manchester United, Ancelotti denied he had the chance to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford but admitted he would consider going back to England.

Ancelotti spent two years at Chelsea, winning the title, before he was sacked following a disappointing campaign.

“I loved England and I was very happy at Chelsea,” Ancelotti recalled.

“I liked the atmosphere, the fans. I have great memories. I’d go back, but it depends on how long this adventure at Real Madrid lasts.

“If it lasts a long time then when it’s finished, I’ll retire.”

Asked if he would go back to Stamford Bridge, Ancelotti confirmed it is a possibility he would consider.

“I don’t think Roman Abramovich has changed his thoughts, but he did with Jose Mourinho,” the Italian noted.

“I have no problems with Abramovich. I had two wonderful years at Chelsea. But there is no particular club, just the atmosphere of English football. So I don’t say no. I certainly wouldn’t say no.”
