Marcelino revealed he is proud of Villarreal’s start to the season after seeing his side dispatch Almeria.
Ike Uche scored both goals for the Yellow Submarine, who have taken 14 points from their opening eight games of the campaign.
“To win any game you have to have maximum intensity because any team can surprise you,” Marcelino told reporters, Marca says.
“Almeria are a team that asks a lot of you. We defended well and we created danger. Ultimately I think we deserved to win.
“We started the season with the pressure of the Europa League and in the League we face teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
“I think we can be satisfied because if you exclude those two teams we’re unbeaten. We should be proud of the level we’re playing at and we will see if we can maintain this dynamic.”
