Getafe go to Real Sociedad on Monday night with confidence, according to Coach Cosmin Contra.
La Real trail El Geta by two points and Contra has praised the hosts’ performances last season, but backed his team to get a good result at Anoeta.
“We have the confidence to go and play a good game,” he told his pre-match Press conference, Marca reports.
“If we’re lucky we can take points away from home in San Sebastian.
“I enjoyed Real Sociedad last season. They played attractive, attacking football, and this season elimination from the Europa League has taken its toll.
“They’re not in good form but they have the team to turn it around at any time. They’ve home but they’ve lost points, yet they’re very strong.
“Our latest results have brought confidence because we’ve seen we can work hard and with strength. We haven’t scored many but we’ve created chances.”
Contra has been mooted as a potential Coach of Romania and the subject was raised, then dismissed.
“It’s just speculation. Someone at the Federation likes my name and said it, but I’m just thinking of Getafe and Monday’s game, to get a result,” he countered.
“I’d like to be Coach someday but it’s not up to me. I have two years on my contract here and it depends on the President.
“I can say I’m very happy. Getafe is my home and always has been. I’ve given everything for this club and I’ll continue to do so.”
