Bravo losing track of Barca clean sheets

Claudio Bravo has said he doesn’t know how many clean sheets he has kept as Barcelona goalkeeper as he’s only interested in the work of the team.

The 3-0 win over Eibar on Saturday night saw Bravo’s eighth blank in as many League games, with the only goals against Barca coming in the Champions League when Marc-Andre Ter Stegen took the gloves.

Bravo has set new records for clean sheets, recording the most by a Barca goalkeeper at the start of the season.

“We work to try and prevent goals. But at the end of the day, to beat Eibar cost us a lot,” Bravo said, AS reports.

“We had to have patience, remain calm and move the ball quickly from one place to another.

“But it costs a lot to create chances and the team had to remain calm to create those opportunities.”

Bravo stressed that it was a team effort at the other end too, thanking his teammates for knuckling down and working to protect his goal.

“You have to communicate with the central defenders and be very aware of every action,” he explained.

“Eibar didn’t do a lot but when they did, they created danger.

“I don’t know how many clean sheets or matches unbeaten that is but it’s what I work for and it’s a credit to the team as well.

“It’s appreciated when one of the strikers helps in defence.”

Bravo praised the atmosphere around the club, comparing it to the start of the season, but refused to get too far ahead of the fixtures.

“We’ve gone from a little to a lot. We’ve got a good feeling about the team and the system,” he revealed.

“I’m happy with how my teammates are working day-to-day. [The next week] is an important challenge for us.

“We’re only thinking about Ajax in the Champions League and then we’ll think about Real Madrid.”
