Torres ‘could only play for Atletico’

Fernando Torres has ruled out the possibility of ever playing for Barcelona or Real Madrid, insisting Atletico Madrid remain his only Spanish club.

Marca has published part of an interview the striker, on loan at Milan, has given to Corriere della Sera in which he explained why he moved to the Rossoneri.

“I had the chance to go to other clubs but Milan showed they really wanted me,” he revealed.

“I’m learning how my teammates play so I can find the right time to move.”

Torres also touched on the notion of returning to La Liga and confirmed there is only one club for him.

He also feels proud that he may have played a small part in Atletico’s recent success during his days at Vicente Calderon.

“I could only play for Atletico. Barca and Real Madrid are not in front of Los Colchoneros,” he insisted.

“Atletico have reached a good level, step by step, and I might have had something to do with it. I’m proud to have led Atleti to the Primera.”
