Martinez: La Real must score first

Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez is convinced the Basques will overcome Getafe next Monday night – provided they score first.

Jagoba Arrasate’s men have not gone ahead on the scoreboard in any of their seven La Liga games played so far this season.

The 23-year-old Spain international believes is imperative if La Real are to move away from just above the relegation zone and start climbing the table.

“We will be doing all we can to take all three points at our home ground and it’s important we don’t go behind again,” Martinez told gathered media at the club’s training ground.

“The Getafe game will be a defining one for us after taking just one point from the last 12, but we’ll win if we perform as we have been doing at Anoeta.

“We need to work harder on our defence and not concede, because if we do that then the goals will arrive at the other end,” he predicted.
