Javi Fuego warns of Depor threat

Valencia midfielder Javi Fuego has spoken of the threat posed by Deportivo la Coruna this weekend.

Los Che visit Riazor having won five and drawn two of the opening seven La Liga games, while Depor sit bottom of the table with just one victory to their name.

However, Fuego admits he is uncertain over which Depor team will turn up on Sunday.

“They’ll be tough opponents and it’s a stadium I really enjoy playing at, although I’m not sure which version of Depor we are going to see.

“In some games, like the one away at Eibar, they have competed well, but there have been others where they haven’t lived up to expectations.

“We are aware of the pressure they are under and we’ll be going there to fight and take all three points,” he told a Press conference.

The 30-year-old, echoing the thoughts of teammate Rodrigo this week, believes it is too early to be thinking of challenging for the League title just yet.

“If you look at my previous Press conferences I never go further than short or maybe medium term.

“There’s no way we are thinking of winning the League and just need to move forward as we have been doing.

“Further down the line the table will place you where you deserve to be and then we’ll see where we are.

“We are only thinking of winning the next game and that’s it,” he declared, before being asked if the international break had been a good thing.

“It’s a question that always comes up. I’m pleased for the internationals at our club, while personally it was great as I went to Asturias to re-charge my batteries.

“We’ve trained well and come back as keen as ever,” he concluded.
