Isco responds to Ancelotti

Real Madrid midfielder Isco has responded to boss Carlo Ancelotti’s words about him this week, although in a joking manner.

Ancelotti had commented on the 22-year-old’s presence in the Madrid team, insisting he deserved to play every game just for the quality and professionalism he has shown at the club.

“Let’s see if it’s true and he puts me in the side,” Isco told reporters.

The former Valencia and Malaga player was speaking following his participation in Spain Under-21’s 2-1 defeat to Serbia in Cadiz, a result that means La Rojita miss out on defending their European Championship crown and also the chance to go to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

“I’m pretty annoyed about it. It was very hard to take because we all had our hopes and dreams, but everything ends here for such a fantastic generation,” he lamented.

“We all wanted to go to the Games but it’s no use talking about that now, although we had no luck today.

“Their first goal was a rebound you don’t often see and from that moment we were up against it.

“With the players we had it should have been enough to win, but they played their own game and took their chances.”
