Tello: Fabregas was forced out

Cristian Tello says Cesc Fabregas was forced to leave Barcelona “through the back door” when he left the club for Chelsea this summer.

Winger Tello, 23, who is currently on a two-year loan deal with Porto from Barca, believes Fabregas was shown a lack of respect by the Catalan giants.

“Cesc didn’t leave the club as he deserved to,” said the Spain international in an interview with Sport.

“He left through the back door. Cesc was a fantastic player and you only have to look at the goals he scored and the assists he provided in his time at Barcelona.

“I suppose he will now be hurting because it was his dream to be a success there.”

Fabregas was a member of Barca’s famed La Masia academy before joining Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2003, sensing his first-team opportunities at the Camp Nou were going to be limited.

However, after eight years with the Gunners he re-joined his boyhood club in August 2011, scoring 28 goals in 96 La Liga appearances in his three years there before returning to England with Chelsea.
