The agent of Victor Valdes has denied the former Barcelona goalkeeper turned down a trial with Liverpool.
It was reported over the weekend that Valdes’ proposed move to the Reds collapsed when he rejected the suggestion of a four-day trial so the Premier League club could assess his knee injury.
Valdes hasn’t played since March, when he tore his cruciate ligament in what proved to be his final Barca appearance.
A move to Monaco was called off by the Ligue 1 outfit over concerns over his fitness and Valdes remains without a club.
“Liverpool didn't ask us to train for four days. We haven't rejected it because [the story] is false,” Sky Sports reported.
“Neither Brendan Rodgers nor Liverpool have ever made us this proposal, at any time.”
