Victor Valdes’ proposed move to Liverpool has collapsed after the former Barcelona goalkeeper rejected a trial period.
Reports in the British Press claim the Reds wanted Valdes to spend a few days with them before offering a contract so they could assess the extent of the goalkeeper’s recovery from a serious knee injury.
Valdes was injured in March and left Barcelona over the summer when his contract expired.
The 32-year-old was invited to Merseyside so Liverpool could get a closer look at Valdes’ fitness, but the player is understood to have turned down the suggestion.
