Zidane facing three-month ban

Real Madrid Castilla Coach Zinidine Zidane could be banned from coaching for three months, according to reports in Spain.

AS claim the RFEF have notified Madrid of the proposed suspension for Zidane, who doesn’t hold the requisite qualifications for the post, and the club have 10 days to reply.

Zidane will continue until a judgement is rendered and, should the ban be enforced, could appeal, first to the RFEF’s Appeals Committee and then the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

There have been a number of complaints about Zidane holding the position despite lacking the required badges, with Rayo Vallecano Coach Paco Jemez a vocal critic.

Zidane is on a French-run course to obtain the next coaching badge and was previously assistant to Carlo Ancelotti.

Santiago Sanchez, who sits on the bench with Zidane, has also been notified of a proposed suspension of the same length.
