Mario Suarez has returned to training with Atletico Madrid having suffered a muscle strain prior to the game against Valencia.
The midfielder missed the 3-1 defeat but is expected to be ready to play Espanyol a week on Sunday and was one of a handful first team players to take part in Atletico training on Friday.
Mario was injured in the Champions League win over Juventus, entering the game as an 84th-minute substitute for Mario Mandzukic.
Diego Simeone wasn’t present at training, the Coach returning to Argentina with the permission of the club to see his son play for River Plate against Rosario Central.
