Jeremy Mathieu had no problem moving to the left of Barcelona’s defence against Rayo Vallecano.
Mathieu, signed from Valencia over the summer, had been used exclusively as a centre-back by Luis Enrique but was shift to the flank at Vallecas.
It’s a position he has since said he is comfortable with, having played there at various times throughout his career, although not lately.
“I hadn’t been playing there but I had a good feeling,” he said, Marca reports.
“The Coach asked me to work at left-back and to go there. It wasn’t new to me. I know the position well.
“I think I did well in attack, contributing when possible. And we’re still not conceding goals in the League.”
