‘Depor lacked mental strength’

Deportivo La Coruna Coach Victor Fernandez accused his side of being mentally weak after a heavy defeat against Sevilla.

Stephane Mbia put Sevilla in front but Haris Medunjanin equalised, only for Sevilla to hit three goals without reply.

“We didn’t have the mental strength or mentality to match the strength of Sevilla,” Fernandez said, AS reports.

“Our fight isn’t with Sevilla. They are in a fight for the top four and ours is among the bottom four.

“The most important thing now is to get our injured players back because they are important and effective players.

“Not all of our rivals have played at Sevilla and not every game is like playing at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.”
