Emery cautious over Sevilla form

Unai Emery excepted Sevilla have been in good form after a 4-1 win over Deportivo La Coruna but tried to keep a lid on expectations.

A Stephane Mbia double and goals each for Carlos Bacca and Vitolo delivered the points, with Haris Medunjanin on target for Depor.

“13 points was good and 16 is better,” Emery said, AS reports.

“Now we have 15 days’ break to work and keep improving.

“I’m happy but I want to be careful. There’s still a lot ahead. I want the team to grow, and when we play like today it’s a step forward.

“But we’re still not without fault. Our objectives are weekly, daily.”

Among the enraptured Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan crowd was Ivan Rakitic, the Barcelona midfielder who left Sevilla over the summer.

“This is Rakitic’s home,” Emery noted.

“But now he’s a sporting opponent.”
