Martino welcomes back Messi

Argentina Coach Tata Martino is pleased to have Barcelona forward Lionel Messi back among the international fold.

The South Americans play Brazil and Hong Kong on a short tour of Asia over the international break and Messi is part of the squad, having missed the last set of fixtures.

“Leo’s return is good news,” AS reports former Barca trainer Martino as saying.

“The way he integrates into the team, with his teammates, is very good. He’s been at Barca a long time and never changes, regardless of what anyone says.”

Martino also touched on former Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria and his move to Manchester United.

“I think United got him on the cheap because he is a player who adapts well to many different positions,” he suggested.

“Whether he plays inside or wide, Angel is one of Argentina’s most important players of recent times.”
