Atleti keen on Callejon & Gabbiadini

Atletico Madrid are keen to bring both Jose Maria Callejon and Manolo Gabbiadini to the Vicente Calderon in January.

Atleti scout Andrea Berta took in two Serie A games over the weekend in order to run the rule over the pair, with Callejon [pictured], scoring the only goal of the game in Napoli’s win over Sassuolo, and Gabbiadini doing likewise in Sampdoria’s victory over Genoa.

According to Calciomercato.com, Los Rojiblancos were interested in former Real Madrid winger Callejon, 27, during the summer. However, they were given no encouragement by Napoli despite the player himself thought to be in favour of a return to Spain.

In Gabbiadini’s case any deal could prove a little more complicated as Sampdoria share the registration rights to the 22-year-old striker with former club Juventus.
