Los Che fans vital for Atletico clash

Valencia midfielder Filipe Augusto believes the support of the fans will be crucial when Los Che taken on Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men go into the clash second in the table and level on points with reigning La Liga champions Atleti, and will be hoping to continue their good start to the season.

“It’s going to be a very difficult game against Atletico but we will be well prepared for it. We will have the support of our fans at Mestalla, which will be vital,” the Brazilian told a Press conference.

In order to get anything from the game the 21-year-old, who arrived at Valencia this summer on a season-long loan from Portuguese outfit Rio Ave, feels the players must train hard this week.

“We have to work at 100 per cent so that we play well and win. We’ll have to fight for it and not think about any possible fatigue we could have.

“But we are feeling good and personally I am training and working every day to get more playing time. I now have more confidence and feel more integrated with the other players, so it’s good.

“My job in the last game [when coming on as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad at the weekend] was to help Javi Fuego, support the attack and keep the ball, because we were losing it too many times.

“We were playing against a great side and should be proud of getting a point because the most important thing is to be consistent,” he concluded.
