Enrique ‘guarded’ over PSG threat

Luis Enrique says he is not dropping his guard despite his Barcelona team having made a near perfect start to the season.

The Asturian has seen the Blaugrana go top of La Liga with five wins and draw from the opening six games, while they are yet to concede a goal.

Nonetheless, Enrique is aware his men face a tough task when they take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.

“I know the day we lose then everything will be a disaster, so it’s important we produce a performance against PSG that gives us a chance of winning.

“To beat them we will have to play well and that requires confidence and motivation. Maybe against a lesser opponent you can ease off at some point, but not with PSG,” he told a Press conference.

Enrique has a policy of treating every team Barca play with maximum respect and downplayed the fact that the French outfit will be without star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been ruled out with a heel injury. .

“The fact Ibra isn’t playing does not change anything from our point of view. The PSG game motivates us a lot, as does where it is being played.

“Winning away from home would make things very interesting. Of course, coming first [in the group] is a priority, but there are so many variations.

“We are going to concentrate all our efforts on being the best in this game,” he affirmed, before suggesting PSG boss Laurent Blanc may have been bluffing when he told the Press his team would look to attack.

“We’ll see if that offensive approach actually happens or not. We coaches have to take what our colleagues say with a pinch of salt,” he stated.
