Gracia rues lack of goals

Malaga Coach Javi Gracia pointed to a lack of goals as the reason for the away defeat against Getafe.

Michel scored the only goal of the game while Malaga had Weligton sent off in injury time and speaking after the match, Gracia lamented problems with the team’s attacking play.

“We didn’t score so the game was complicated,” he said, AS reports.

“We were pretty unfortunate with our play around the penalty area. We’ve had very few chances for the possession we had.

“Right now we only occasionally create chances.”

The defeat comes after Malaga were able to hold Barcelona to a goalless draw at La Rosaleda but Gracia reiterated the Barca match wasn’t relevant, having said as much pre-match.

“It was a different game to the one we played against Barca. Different games, different opponents, and we required a different way of playing,” he added.

Regarding the Weligton red card, Gracia suggested referees treat his side differently than other teams.

“Why are they so quick to send off Malaga players?’ Garcia asked.
