Both Espanyol and Barcelona have agreed to put out their strongest teams when they face each other in the Catalan Super Cup next month.

There was some controversy this week when Espanyol President Joan Collet threatened to pull out of the prestigious match because in the past Barca have been unwilling to field most of their star players, instead selecting what amounted to their B team.

However, a new development in talks between the clubs has seen the Catalan Football Federation announce it has agreed terms with both, and that they will put out their respective first teams for the match on October 29.

“The Catalan Federation has agreed terms under which the game will be played between the two clubs, and the rule requiring they play with their first-team squads will be respected,” read a statement.

Unless there are any other unforeseen complications the game will be played at the Estadi Montilivi in Girona.
