Andres Iniesta admitted Barcelona were a little off-colour in the 0-0 draw with Malaga on Wednesday night.
The Barca midfielder told reporters after the game that the Blaugrana had struggled to break down a resilient home defence at La Rosaleda, whilst admitting there were a few flaws in his side’s performance.
“We tried to pass the ball around quickly and take control but we struggled to do that because Malaga simply shut up shop at the back,” lamented Iniesta.
“We tried reorganising but it’s always difficult against a team that sits back. However, Malaga deserve credit because we lacked the speed to get behind their defence and create chances.
“We did look for a solution but we’ll always come up against sides that close up, so it’s up to us to be more precise.
“We tried hard enough but it’s not easy to get past a nine-man defence. It’s difficult to win in this League and to do so you need to play well,” he concluded.
