Davor Suker believes his fellow Croatian Ivan Rakitic can make history at Barcelona following his summer signing from Sevilla.
Speaking to SER’s La Graderia programme, former Real Madrid player Suker considers Rakitic to be the best signing Barca made prior to the 2014-15 La Liga campaign, whilst also comparing the 26-year-old to German midfielder Bernd Schuster when he was at the Camp Nou.
“Rakitic is going to make history at the club because he is a star and it was an awesome purchase on Barcelona’s part. His all-round game reminds me very much of Schuster,” said Suker.
Rakitic opened his goalscoring account for the Catalans with a stunning strike in the 5-0 thrashing of Levante at the weekend and Suker believes there is more to come.
“I expect him to get 10 or 12 goals this season,” he predicted.
