Luis Enrique: Barca face tough task

Luis Enrique believes his Barcelona side face a tough task when they take on Malaga at La Rosaleda on Wednesday.

The Catalans have made a flawless start to the 2013-14 La Liga campaign, winning all four games and scoring 11 goals without reply, but Enrique says he is worried about the threat posed by Javi Gracia’s men.

“I’m concerned about them as a unit and the fact they have a target man up front in [Roque] Santa Cruz also concerns me,” he told a Press conference.

“Then there is Duda, their wingers, and the holding midfield pair, so it’s a team with great potential that is good at playing the long ball and is strong from set-pieces.

“I’m expecting a difficult game, as is the case with any away fixture, but our aim is to create more chances than our opponent and therefore have a better chance of winning.”

Surprisingly, the 44-year-old feels there is still room for improvement in defence despite not having conceded a League goal so far.

“I’m sure we can be better in defence and it’s something we are working on as there is still margin for improvement.

“We have got some things wrong but as we haven’t let any goals in it seems that everything is satisfactory,” he explained.

Questioned about Barca’s early lead in the title race, Enrique said it is too early to start thinking so far ahead.

“It won’t be until March onwards that we’ll see who is really in the race for La Liga. Our aim is that when we reach that point we’ll still be in a position where we can challenge for everything.

“Nobody wins the League between September and February,” he declared
