Ancelotti happy with Depor win, but…

Carlo Ancelotti was delighted with Real Madrid’s 8-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna but not entirely satisfied with what he saw from his team.

Speaking to reporters after the match the Coach praised the attacking power of his side but suggested that overall, Madrid can do better.

“We played with great intensity and we tried to do well in all phases of the game,” Ancelotti is quoted as saying by Marca.

“We have shown our quality and we have players with great skill…we need to improve our consistency and our balance.”

Ancelotti was asked about the substitutions he made, introducing Asier Illarramendi for Karim Benzema at a time Deportivo were getting back into the contest.

Isco meanwhile created a couple of goals and Javier Hernandez claimed a brace, both having entered the match late on.

“The changes gave the team more intensity and freshness. Illarra gave balance and depth and Isco and Chicharito quality. James played well too,” he noted.
