‘Madrid intensity beat Depor’

Sergio Ramos believes the intensity with which Real Madrid played was the reason for their remarkable 8-2 win over Deportivo La Coruna.

A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick, braces each for Gareth Bale and Javier Hernandez and a stunning James Rodriguez goal gave Madrid a big win at Riazor.

It came after two consecutive League defeats for Los Blancos and Ramos told reporters after the final whistle that having won two games in a row – against Basel in midweek the first – the good feeling is coming back.

“We’ve been through a spell that has not been good and you know the way it is in Madrid if you lose two games,” AS reports Ramos saying.

“Now we have two wins and that will give us confidence. We came out with intensity and we maintained that in the second half and we have been successful in front of goal. That gives us confidence.

“In football you have to live the good and the bad. We have to keep improving. The team reacted well and have stayed optimistic for further growth.

“At the end the scorers are the least important because what matters here is the institution and that we continue to aspire to trophies.”
