‘8-2 not a fair result…’

The President of Deportivo La Coruna doesn’t believe his side deserved to concede eight goals against Real Madrid.

A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick, braces each for Gareth Bale and Javier Hernandez and a stunning James Rodriguez goal gave Madrid an astonishing win at Riazor.

Tino Fernandez spoke to reporters after the match and said the game was much closer than the score would suggest.

“We’ve conceded fantastic goals. It’s a result that’s too much for the game,” AS reports the President as saying.

“The first two goals were special goals but the third one is a concern. It feels like that was the game.

“We shouldn’t be overly dramatic, it’s only three points and it’s time to think of [Celta Vigo, Deportivo’s next game].

“To win the derby is always a very nice game for everyone. We want to win on Tuesday and take a step forward.

“The League is very long and you fight for every game. You go game-by-game.”
