‘Mou and Ronaldo? What can I say?’

Carlo Ancelotti has avoided wading in with a response to Jose Mourinho’s comments about Cristiano Ronaldo and the Real Madrid job.

Mourinho was quoted as saying he and Ronaldo have no relationship now they are no longer working together and he has also suggested he could one day return to Santiago Bernabeu.

The issue was raised with Ancelotti at a Press conference to preview Madrid’s trip to Deportivo La Coruna but the Italian took a diplomatic – and a somewhat spikey – stance.

“I don’t know what to say to this. I don’t know Mourinho’s relationship with Cristiano and I don’t care because it’s a personal relationship and because it has nothing to do with Madrid,” AS reports Ancelotti as saying.

“What can I say? I don’t know. If Mourinho doesn’t want to come back here then he will have other options. He’s a Coach who could work anywhere.

“I don’t think he was expecting a good atmosphere here so it’d be normal if he didn’t want to come back.”
