Ancelotti: No Bernabeu doubts

Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t believe Real Madrid are better off playing away from Santiago Bernabeu despite vocal unrest from part of the ground.

Iker Casillas was subject to whistles from the stands in the derby defeat to Atletico Madrid, although the captain and goalkeeper got a better reception in the midweek Champions League win over Basel.

Ancelotti has appeared at a Press conference to preview Saturday’s game against Deportivo La Coruna and when it was suggested Madrid would prefer to be at Deportivo’s Riazor, he flatly denied that’s the case.

“No, no, no. It’s always difficult to play away from home. Sometimes we get a bad reaction at the Bernabeu, like we did last season. It’s normal,” he countered, AS reports.

“We are used to playing at ground [like the Riazor or Anoeta]. We think we are going to improve and we are improving.

“I’d prefer to play every game at the Bernabeu. Occasionally there are whistles and in the past they’ve been deserved but I prefer to play at the Bernabeu. It’s our home.”
