Barca honour Tito Vilanova

Barcelona have paid tribute to former boss Tito Vilanova by naming a training ground in his honour.

The club’s board agreed on Monday that the pitch at their Ciudad Deportiva de Sant Joan Despi, where the first team train, would be renamed Tito Vilanova after the former Coach.

Vilanova was in charge at the Camp Nou in the 2012-13 season after succeeding Pep Guardiola, who announced he was taking time out from the game to recharge his batteries, having been the current Bayern Munich boss’s assistant.

However, after being diagnosed with cancer and being forced to give up the job, Vilanova went into remission but during a check-up in April this year suffered complications and sadly passed away.
